Amalraj was born and raised in South India. As a kid he obsessed over technology and computer networks and programming, which lead him to complete several professional certifications, while he was in high school.
After a brief debacle with Electronics and Communication Engineering, he switched to film-making and was involved in several projects that were screened and competed in renowned international film festivals including the 67th edition of Cannes Film Festival. Then he spent three years working in a shipping company (NVOCC) involing in their operations and technological endeavors.
He then moved to Singapore to pursue a degree in Business Studies and Finance, where he enjoyed evaluating different investment practices and behavioral finance in financial markets.
After moving to London and making friends with people from the west, he was exposed to western philosophy and school of thought and conceived ideas about its application to today’s ICT. Amatuer guitarist and an accidental trumpet player.
He currently studies master’s in Information Science at University College London (UCL). His passion for Films and Philosophy and Ethics of Technology has pushed him to contribute to BSWink. There he helps manage BSWink's digital processes, produce and edit the Smoker's Lounge Podcast, while also contributing his own original articles.
